At the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 Google announced Google Cast and revealed that it was teaming up with companies like Sony, LG and Denon to bring its audio casting technology to their speakers. LG and Sony have some speakers that support Google Cast but interestingly Denon has nothing to show for this year-long partnership. Actually it won’t have anything to show for it at all.
That’s because sadly Denon and Google have decided to break up and go their separate ways. Sad but true.
It was confirmed by Denon through Twitter when it was asked by a customer about when Google Cast support will arrive for its speakers. Denon replied that it isn’t going to happen. They cite “differing product approaches,”.
That doesn’t mean that they may not work with Google in the future. Denon says it will update customers if that happens. At least we still have stuff from LG and Sony, and soon new partners will also have supported products. Companies like Pioneer, Raumfeld, Philips, Harman/Kardon and others. That sucks for Denon fans, but it happens. Sometimes partnerships don’t work out and two companies have differing goals, approaches and ideas. At least there are many other companies taking part.
