Darksiders 2 publisher Nordic Games has confirmed that a remastered edition of the title is being developed for the PlayStation 4. We had previously heard rumors of a remastered edition and now Nordic Games felt it was time to formally confirm their plans for Darksiders 2: Definitive Edition for the PlayStation 4. A listing went live on Amazon and was taken down recently.
A representative for Nordic Games tells GameSpot that “the authenticity of the listing is unquestionable,” and says that further details about the project will not be discussed at this time.
Darksiders 2: Definitive Edition might also be released for the Xbox One but we have no info on that yet. The publisher has not confirmed whether the release would go beyond the PlayStation 4. In case you didn’t know, Darksiders 2 was released in August of 2012 and it was one of the final titles to come out of THQ, the now-bankrupt publisher. It was released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC. Later for the Nintendo Wii U as well. Nordic Games actually picked up several of THQ’s properties, Darksiders was just one of them. We don’t know when Darksiders 2: Definitive Edition will be released for PS4, but at least we know it’s coming.
