Anyone looking for a budget Android 4.0 tablet will be pleased to know that Coby has announced they will be introducing a range of 5 new tablets all running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at CES next year. Coby says these tablets will all be available at “incredible prices” when launched.
The new tablets will follow on from Coby’s current range of Android tablets and will include: 7″ MID7042, 8″ MID8042 (4:3 aspect ratio), 9″ MID9042, 9.7″ MID9742 (4:3 aspect ratio), and 10″ MID1042.
The tablets will be equipped with capacitive multi-touch screens, and powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU supported by 1GB of RAM, with expandable memory up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, and HDMI 1080p output.
Features and Specifications
Each of these tablets will come with a capacitive multi-touch screen, ensuring a responsive and smooth user experience. The 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU, combined with 1GB of RAM, will provide sufficient power for everyday tasks such as web browsing, media consumption, and light gaming. Additionally, the expandable memory up to 32GB will allow users to store a significant amount of data, including apps, photos, and videos.
The inclusion of Wi-Fi ensures that users can stay connected to the internet wherever there is a wireless network available. The HDMI 1080p output is a notable feature, allowing users to connect their tablets to larger screens for an enhanced viewing experience, making it ideal for presentations, watching movies, or playing games on a bigger display.
Market Position and Consumer Appeal
Coby’s new range of tablets is positioned to appeal to budget-conscious consumers who are looking for affordable yet feature-rich devices. The variety in screen sizes, from 7 inches to 10 inches, caters to different user preferences and needs. For instance, the 7″ MID7042 is compact and portable, making it perfect for on-the-go use, while the 10″ MID1042 offers a larger display for those who prefer a more immersive experience.
Coby explains:
“Coby is thrilled to announce our premiere range of feature-packed Android 4.0-powered Internet tablets that will put the world in consumers’ hands as never before,”- “We also are proud to be among the first companies to make available a wide range of the newest, Ice Cream Sandwich-operated units, helping to further underscore our commitment to meeting the demands of a broad base of consumers with innovative products in the hottest CE categories.”
The introduction of these tablets at CES is a strategic move by Coby to capture the attention of tech enthusiasts and industry professionals. CES, being one of the largest consumer electronics shows, provides an excellent platform for Coby to showcase their latest innovations and gain media coverage.
Moreover, the use of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the operating system is a significant selling point. This version of Android brought several improvements over its predecessors, including a more refined user interface, better multitasking capabilities, and enhanced performance. These improvements make the tablets more user-friendly and efficient, which is likely to attract a broader audience.
