Are you a fan of classic arcade games? If so, you might be interested to learn that Nintendo has announced that they will be bringing two long-lost arcade games to the Nintendo Switch console. We’re talking about Donkey Kong and Sky Skipper. The former is already available while the latter will be coming in July.
You might be wondering why Nintendo has not bothered with a re-release of the original Donkey Kong, but this may be because of possible copyright issues. However now presumably those issues are resolved and three versions of the game will be available. Fans should be very happy with this news.
One of these includes the original Japanese release containing the game’s original bugs, a fixed version of the Japanese release, and an international version that was launched in the US in 1981. Sky Skipper was an arcade game launched in 1981 that Nintendo tested by placing arcade cabinets in certain bars and arcades to determine player interest.
Previously, it was not popular enough to be released in full, but now gamers who missed out will now have a chance to see what all the fuss is about. Hopefully, we will see more arcade games hit the Switch soon.
