Capcom is no stranger to classic arcade games, especially fighting games like Street Fighter. Now it looks like Capcom might have another arcade fighting game heading our way soon, according to Yoshinori Ono, the executive producer from the Street Fighter series.
A tweet by Ono reads, “I want… no, Capcom wants Game Designer and programer for New Fighting Game. Its location at Tokyo or Osaka Studio.” Ono also confirmed that the studio is currently getting ready for the development of the game, but did not confirm if it would be a next-gen title. I think we can assume that it will be, since next-gen consoles are being released next month.
This is interesting news since it was a few months ago that he was reported as saying that at that time, they did not have the budget or the staff to make Street Fighter V for next-gen consoles. Either that has changed or it is a different title. Hopefully we can expect it in 2014. I wouldn’t mind seeing a new Street Fighter game. It’s been a while since I’ve played any of them. Whatever it is, it will be good, I’m sure. They know what they are doing.
