While Epic’s Fortnite Battle Royale was probably one of 2018’s most popular games, earning $2 million a day on iOS devices if we can believe what we’ve heard, it doesn’t compare to King’s Candy Crush. Yes, you read that right.
According to a recent report, the game is said to be averaging $4.2 million a day. That is an insane number. In 2018 Candy Crush was reported to have made more than $1.5 billion in revenue from microtransactions. That is across both iOS and Android devices. And since this is a six-year-old franchise, this is pretty amazing. It has staying power.
The original Candy Crush apparently made $945 million, and 29% of spending valued around $443 million came from other spin-offs like Candy Crush Soda Saga, while the Candy Crush Jelly Saga brought in $90 million. The latest title, Candy Crush Friends Saga, is said to have made about $3 million since its release back in October 2018. This whole franchise is impressive.
To see how Candy Crush fares compared to some other competition, Pokemon GO was said to have earned $800 million in 2018, and Fortnite made about $445 million on iOS devices, so considering how “old” this franchise is, it looks like it is still somehow managing to make a lot of money for its creators.
