Activision decided to bundle Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered with some versions of the new title. The only catch is that if you wanted to play the latter without having to buy the former you were out of luck since Activision wasn’t selling the remastered version by itself.
Well, now if we can believe a new rumor, Activision may soon launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered as a standalone game. This would please many gamers, no doubt about it. Let’s hope it is true.
There’s a listing on Amazon Japan that suggests that this 2007 first-person shooter game will be released as a standalone title. The listing is for the standalone version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and it says that the standalone title will be out on June 20th, 2017. To reinforce this rumor, Gamefly had a similar listing up on its website earlier this month. It even had the same exact release date. Another listing was spotted which suggested that the Xbox One version of the title would be released a month after it arrives on PlayStation 4, so that would be July 20th.
It makes sense since the company can make extra money on the game in this way. Activision hasn’t commented on these reports and hasn’t confirmed if this is going to happen,so grain of salt for now.
