BlizzCon 2019 will be happening next month and it is Blizzard’s biggest event of the year. Blizzard typically avoids events like E3, so this usually means that BlizzCon will see the company announce new games and expansions and reveal things that they are working on. This year it looks like there could be a chance that Diablo 4 might be announced.
Kotaku’s Jason Schreier claims that Blizzard will be making a “big announcement” at BlizzCon this year. This will make up for last year’s “PR blowup”. In case you missed the “PR blowup”, last year it was speculated that Blizzard would be announcing Diablo 4. Instead, Blizzard announced a mobile version of Diablo called Diablo Immortals.
Naturally, this led to huge backlash from fans who did not like the idea of a mobile version of Diablo. However, Blizzard did caution fans ahead of the event that they might not announce Diablo 4, but it was still a major disappointment to fans anyway. Based on Schreier’s tweet and reference to a “PR blowup”, we can only hope that this could be Diablo related, but it is all just speculation right now.
We will find out for sure soon enough. Hopefully, fans will like the announcement.
