BlackBerry’s latest flagship smartphone seems to be doing well. We haven’t been able to say that for awhile. Over 200,000 units were sold on the first day after launch alone with more following. As you can imagine, BlackBerry CEO John Chen was relieved that the company was having trouble keeping up with demand, which exceeded their expectations. It’s always nice to have a product that people want.
Right now, the device is only available in black but more color options may be coming. The white BlackBerry Passport has already been confirmed a few weeks ago. That one should be available in white before the end of the year, though we don’t have a firm release date just yet.
Also, some photos of a BlackBerry Passport in red have been circulating for a few months too. It hasn’t been officially confirmed as a color option by BlackBerry, but N4BB reports that both of these colors will be available for purchase around Christmas. That makes sense since both are Christmas colors. The report says that the Passport will be sold in these new colors through Amazon, where the off-contract unlocked version will be $599. We don’t know when the red and white Passport will head to other markets yet. Hopefully you can get these colors soon.
