Microsoft wants everyone to know that it has made some changes to the Bing search engine. Now Bing search gets a new modern design that is focused on simplicity and speed in order to give users a better search experience. Microsoft apparently put a lot of research into the new interface and looked at different fonts, spacing, color, visual scan patterns, the search box, and the underlying code. You don’t have to wait to see the result.
Go to Bing.com/new and you can have a look right now before it launches. This biggest part of the redesign combines Snapshot and Sidebar, which were added last year. This allows Bing to give you information on search terms that combines information and actions about specific search queries.
Let’s say you search for Highway 1. You’ll get factual data like links, dates, and related places. You will also get status updates from social networks, photos, tweets, check-ins, and expert opinions. This sounds great for travelers.
Take that Google.
