Looks like Twitter is figuring out their revenue options as BBC America has signed a deal with Twitter to among the first “in-Tweet branded video synced to entertainment TV series.” The announcement was made through Twitter and it doesn’t give much detail about just what exactly the service is all about.
It does mention popular shows Doctor Who and Top Gear, suggesting that video advertisements for upcoming episodes of BBC properties could appear on the microblogging service very soon.
If this is really video advertising for BBC shows, this could be a nice way for Twitter to earn revenue in future, along with promoted messages and potential revenues from its new #Music service.
