Smart glasses are not a new concept, as companies like Google have attempted them in the past with products like Google Glass. The product didn’t really take off the way Google intended, but naturally, Apple is reportedly planning something of their own which they hope will succeed. It will launch in 2020.
We have heard rumors that Apple is working on their own set of augmented reality (AR) glasses and we know that the company is interested in AR technology. Just look at iOS and Apple’s newer iPhones. But would they really launch a dedicated wearable? It sounds like it.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has accurately predicted Apple’s product launches in the past so they may have this one correct as well. Other analysts have their own predictions and are claiming that it might be launched in 2021. Of course, details are scarce at the moment, but if Apple launches an AR wearable, maybe this will finally be the one to convince the masses.
2020 is still a couple of years away and things could change, so even if this is accurate, it may not ever happen. We are just going to have to wait and see what happens between now and the year 2020.
