Wow. Selfie sticks are welcomed in fewer and fewer places by the day. Probably because people are acting like idiots when they have them. It’s what people do. Well, you can add another place where they are off limits. Apple’s annual developers conference. Apple has made it clear that it will not be allowing selfie sticks at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2015, which begins on June 8th and runs through June 12th. What will those poor self-addicted people do?
If you look through the WWDC 2015 Attendance Policy you will find this: “In addition, you may not use selfie sticks or similar monopods within Moscone West or Yerba Buena Gardens.”
That makes it pretty clear with no room for doubt. No idiot sticks allowed. End of story. The policy also asks attendees not to take any audio or audiovisual recordings of the proceedings at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2015. The policy states clearly that wearable recording devices are not welcome at all. Hey, the Apple Watch includes a microphone. Is that off limits? They are probably thinking more about Google Glass.
So if you are attending WWDC 2015, don’t bring your selfie stick or you will be in trouble and not allowed to attend.
