Every year when a new iPhone or iPad is announced we see a number of leaked parts for these new Apple devices.
We also see a number of new cases from accessory makers before the products are actually released, some of these manufacturers are making cases based on leaks.
Now Apple has warned some of its accessory makers that if they design their accessories based on leaked details, they would end up having their accessories removed from the Apple store.
“…should Apple find that, prior to the release of a product, you have sought, obtained, or relied upon specifications of that product from sources other than Apple, Apple may choose to exercise its right to take action against you, which penalties can include, but are not limited to, Apple choosing not to stock your product in our stores.”
According to 9 to 5 Mac, before the launch of the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Apple asked a number of the leading accessory makers to sign an agreement not do design their accessories based on leaked information.
Apple is obviously looking to reduce the amount of leaked details about their new devices, and if case makers are designing their accessories based on the leaked information, then this give more validity to the leaked details.
