Hurricane Harvey has been devastating for the folks in Texas. People have lost their cars, homes, friends, family members, pets, businesses, and more. It is a nightmare for anyone going through it.
Many phones were obviously damaged during the flood, which is not as important as lives lost, but it is just one of many losses. Well, Apple can at least help in that area. If you’re an iPhone owner who has had their device damaged during Hurricane Harvey, there are reports claiming that Apple is unofficially offering to repair these devices for free.
Apple has not officially announced or confirmed anything, but reports are suggesting that there are some who are lucky enough to have received device repairs for water and impact damage for free. Neither of these types of damages are typically covered under warranty, so if this is true and this is what Apple is doing, it is a nice way to help those affected by the hurricane.
Hurricane Harvey may have caused between $150-$180 billion in damages, at least 47 deaths have been reported, and more than 43,000 people have been displaced from their homes. It is nice to see Apple helping them out with their phones at least.
