Amazon has now announced that restaurant delivery is available to Prime Now customers based in San Diego. The rest of us will have to wait.
Prime Now customers in San Diego can now use this service to get food delivery from local restaurants who are participating. You can browse menus and place orders using the Prime Now app. The app also lets you view participating restaurants, track the status of the delivery and even watch as the driver travels from the restaurant to the delivery address in real time. It’s a new adventure in food ordering.
Amazon is just the middle man for the ordering process, and once the order is placed the delivery drivers pick up and deliver the food within an hour or less. The average delivery time is about 39 minutes apparently. It is available in 16 zip codes in San Diego. You can check the app to see if the service is available to you in your area.
