Amazon is getting into the football game by launching a new Thursday Night Football pre-game show. This show is a bit different as it is hosted by two women. Some of us might wonder why they would make this choice since Football’s fandom is mostly male, but it is the current trend.
Charissa Thompson and Rachel Lindsay both have impressive sports broadcasting resumes and on this show, they will interview two opposing players both on and off the field as they gear up for their Thursday Night Football games. One of these interviews will take place during the player’s daily commute, while the other will be at their home, or the team’s training facilities.
The new series will air weekly on the Tuesday ahead of each week’s Thursday Night Football match-up in the US, and will be available on the Prime app on all consoles and devices.
The news comes after Amazon’s recent announcement that its latest round of Thursday Night Football commentary will include an option for all-female audio commentary from veteran sports journalists Andrew Kremer and Hannah Storm. This will be the first time two women commentators will cover an entire NFL game. Right now Amazon is all about more women in sports.
