After Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods, there were reports suggesting that Prime members would be getting some added perks if they shop at the grocery store. There was even a rumor last month that suggested that Amazon would be giving Prime members a 10% discount.
Now it looks like those rumors were accurate. Amazon has announced that Prime members will get some extra perks while shopping at Whole Foods. Specifically, 10% while shopping at Whole Foods along with weekly “deep discounts” on select best-selling items.
These discounts will only be available to those who are living in Florida for the moment though. It seems likely that Amazon will extend these discounts to other Whole Foods outlets in the future, but we have no word on when that might be.
According to John Mackey, Co-founder and CEO of Whole Foods Market, “We’re thrilled for Whole Foods Market to be part of the Prime experience. By offering greater discounts on sale items, and exclusive deals like $10 off a pound for sustainably-sourced, wild-caught halibut, launching savings for Prime members is an amazing opportunity to bring our industry-leading quality standards and delicious food to more customers at a better price.”
So if you have Prime you can save more money at Whole Foods.
