Plenty of smartphone manufacturers create all sorts kinds of accessories like lens attachments, flash units, camera cases, and more, so that you can get the best shots possible with your smartphone. Sony and Olympus even offer the QX-series and Olympus Air lens attachments, but neither has caught on. The folks at DxO might have found a solution though.
It looks like the company plans to announce a smartphone accessory called the DxO ONE. It is a camera attachment for the iPhone that will plug into the Lightning port of your phone. The announcement should be coming anytime now, but we have some photos of the device and its alleged specs have also been leaked.
The DxO ONE will have a 1-inch 20.2MP CMOS BSI sensor and be able to record Full HD videos at 30fps, 720p HD at 120fps, and will have a 11.9mm lens which is roughly 32mm in full frame. It also features a somewhat wide aperture at f/1.8 which should help with low-light photography. What do you think? Does it look promising? The battery life is said to be good for about 200 photos and an ISO range of 100 to 51,200. It will also be compatible with all iOS devices that have a Lightning port, except for the first-gen iPad mini. It will be priced at $599.
