A couple of months ago we heard that classic games like Aladdin and The Lion King would be re-released for modern-day consoles. If you grew up playing these classics, then this is a great bit of nostalgia. And if you really want to go old school, then you might be interested to learn that Nighthawk Interactive and iam8bit are planning on releasing both games in their cartridge form. That’s a blast from the past.
The Aladdin cartridge will be for the Sega Genesis, while The Lion King one will be for the SNES. You will actually be able to use these cartridges with those consoles for real.
These releases aren’t really for playing as much as they are for collectors. Each title will only have 4,500 units available and will cost $100 each, so you better get these while you can. If you do want to play these games, there will be regular versions that will be priced cheaper.
For collectors and fans, these cartridges are expected to be coming in early 2020, so keep an eye out for them because they will be very limited in their quantity and might sell out pretty fast. You don’t see this kind of release everyday.
