Additional Features and Considerations
The Aspire S7 series is designed to offer a premium ultrabook experience, combining sleek design with powerful performance. The 1080p IPS displays on all models ensure vibrant colors and wide viewing angles, making them ideal for both work and entertainment. The inclusion of SSD storage across the board means faster boot times and quicker access to files, enhancing overall productivity.
One of the standout features of the Aspire S7 series is its lightweight and slim profile. Weighing in at just 2.29 pounds for the 11.6-inch model and 2.86 pounds for the 13.3-inch models, these laptops are highly portable, making them perfect for users who are always on the go. The thinness of these devices, at just under half an inch, adds to their portability without compromising on build quality.
The choice between Intel Core i5 and i7 processors allows users to select a model that best fits their performance needs. The Core i5 models are well-suited for everyday tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and media consumption. On the other hand, the Core i7 model, with its more powerful processor and larger 256GB SSD, is ideal for more demanding applications like video editing and multitasking.
Battery life is another critical aspect to consider. While Acer has not specified the exact battery life for these models, ultrabooks in this category typically offer around 5 to 7 hours of usage on a single charge. This should be sufficient for a full day of work or a long flight, but users who require extended battery life might need to carry a charger or consider an external battery pack.
Connectivity options on the Aspire S7 series include USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, and a microSD card reader, providing ample options for connecting peripherals and external displays. The inclusion of a backlit keyboard ensures that users can work efficiently even in low-light conditions.
The Acer Aspire S7 series offers a compelling combination of design, performance, and portability. With the launch coinciding with the release of Windows 8, these ultrabooks are poised to take full advantage of the new operating system’s touch-friendly interface and enhanced features. Whether you’re a professional looking for a powerful yet portable laptop or a student in need of a reliable device for schoolwork, the Aspire S7 series has something to offer.
