We already know that Hollywood is lazy, making reboot after reboot. It just seems like they have run out of ideas or are afraid to try anything new. They have even made movies based on such things as the Battleship game. Well, get ready for a game based on the classic Tetris video game.
Yeah, so now they are making movies based on arcade games that feature falling bricks. According to The Wall Street Journal, Threshold Entertainment will be making a live-action film based around it.
This is no rumor. They are actually doing it. Threshold’s CEO Larry Kasanoff has spoken about the plans, saying the movie is “a very big, epic sci-fi” film. Kasanoff reassures everyone that “We’re not giving feet to the geometric shapes.” That’s about all we know. It has no director yet and no cast. I wonder just what they will do with those bricks. We know they won’t have feet. Maybe they will be alien bricks that hover and shoot, forming walls that kill. I wonder what kind of budget it has. I guess we will find out in due time. They really are scraping the bottom of the barrel it seems as far as original ideas go.
