Microsoft hasn’t said a word about a new variant of the Xbox One, but some FCC filings have been discovered which suggest that a slim Xbox One might be coming our way soon.
Of course it is all just speculation at this point, it’s possible that if this console is a reality then it might be unveiled at the E3 gaming convention in June. There is no official word on this yet though.
The FCC filings were discovered by NeoGAF user ekim. One of the filings lists model 1683, but the contents of the filing are under NDA until June 25th, which is one week after Microsoft’s conference at E3 2016. This filing mentions “User Manual 1525,” which leads many of believe that this is a new Xbox One model because 1525 is the model number of the Xbox One that’s currently available. That is all very logical, so this looks legit.
If this new Xbox One model is a slim version of the console then it would use the same safety manual as the one available with the current console. Model 1682 is mentioned in another filing which doesn’t include the 1525 safety manual. This could be a new Xbox One model that’s not the slim model or the one being sold right now. That’s pretty much all we know at this point.
