There are a lot of cool projects you can make with some online help. Guns probably should not be one of them. The 3D “Wiki Weapon” project is all about delivering a fully 3D printable gun. Unfortunately, there was a fail after a test-firing session of an assault rifle that was made with one 3D-printed part.
On the sixth shot the AR-15 assault rifle snapped in two. This failure happened on December 1st and shows that it is hard to make working gun parts from the materials that are currently used for 3D printing.
Still, five shots isn’t bad. Maybe one day they can perfect homemade guns. As long as people act responsibly anyway.
