We have been hearing a lot of rumors that Apple might have a 16-inch MacBook Pro in the works. The laptop was rumored to be launched at the end of October, but that obviously never happened. But, could we be getting close to launch? It sounds like that may be the case. Apparently Apple is now expecting shipments for the laptop this quarter.
According to the report, “Apple and Microsoft are both expected to perform strongly in the fourth quarter. Apple’s new 16-inch ultra-thin-bezel MacBook Pro is expected to begin volume shipments in the fourth quarter, while Microsoft’s new third-generation Surface Laptop will boost sharply the brand vendor’s shipments sequentially in the fourth quarter.”
However, while Apple may be receiving shipments of the laptop this quarter, we dpn’t know when they might launch. The answer may be in the keyboard. The keyboard is expected to use a new scissor switch mechanism and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently shared a prediction where he said that these new keyboards are only expected to arrive mid-2020.
I guess we will have to wait and see. Take it with a grain of salt for now, and if we hear more we will let you know.
