Fans are looking forward to playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and they won’t have to wait much longer since the game has been slated for a September 1st release. If you’re looking forward to the online PVP mode, which is called Forward Operating Base, it looks like you will need real money to access the feature.
That is not good news for fans. This news comes from a report from GameSpot. During their early review of the game they discovered that it would cost players MB Coins to unlock the feature. These coins are used to purchase open water in the game which will then make space available for a PVP-dedicated base, but the feature has yet to go live so the price of MB Coins has not yet been determined.
Konami was asked about the feature and how much it would cost and their reply was “Unfortunately we don’t have any official details to share at the moment regarding the microtransaction model for F.O.B.. We should have more information for you next week though as those details are still being solidified.”
Hmmm. Sounds like they don’t want the cat out of the bag just yet. Most people don’t like the idea of paying additional money for features that they thought would be free. It might be a good idea to wait before pre-ordering the game, until more details about the game come out. Hopefully this report is not true.
