It looks like Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 Marketplace has hit another milestone, as the Microsoft mobile app store now has a total of 5,000 applications, which isn’t bad considering that it only launched two months ago.
This brings the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace in line with the webOS store which is also reported to have around 5,000 applications.
Microsoft’s 5,000 apps is still a long way of the 200,000 apps in the Android Marketplace and the 300,000 apps in the iOS App store, and we suspect it will take them quite some time to catch up.
It will be interesting to see how well the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Marketplace does in 2011 and whether it is able to catch up to both Android and Apple’s iOS.
