After last weeks speculation it has now been confirmed that the new Verizon Galaxy Tab will not have access to Skype over 3G via Verizon’s 3G-capable Skype app.
Alternatively the Galaxy Tab will have to use the regular Skype app available from the Android Market that currently only allows calls over Wi-fi connections within the US.
But don’t worry to much because there are ways around the missing 3G Skype application. If you have a mobile 3G hotspot device you will be able to use the Wi-fi version of the app to make as many 3G-based Skype calls as you like.
