Like all other Willcom mobiles(W-zero3, es, es advanced), this phone (yes it’s a cellular PHONE) will not be coming to America. It’s technically incompatible with any US networks. Will Sharp make a similar device for the US market? Who knows.
Pricing is Â¥128,600 according to engadget.com. My Japanese co-workers tell me that it’s around Â¥80,000 (roughly $800) with the standard service contract.

It would help if it was marketed with XP as an alternative OS.

Hi Cody
‘Atom’ is the name of Intel’s new tiny Centrino proccesor, which is designed to be used in small handheld PC’s, sorry I should have mentioned that in the article.
You can read about it here:-

Ok, so I’ve been looking into umpcs for a few months now, and with the advent of the Asus eee pc and the HP 2133, I think we’re about to see quite a few companies verge on ridiculous. Why would we need a pc this small? Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing feat of engineering. Perhaps just to prove that we can, but really, is there a market for something like this? Why not just go with a smartphone of some type?

Seems like an amazing device, but I see a few problems. Along with the fact that the keyboard would be way too small to type on comfortably, Vista (Premium no less) will run like a dead slug on that thing. A agree that anyone who wants this thing really just wants a smartphone.
