The Archipod is a unique garden office that offers a new way for people to work from home. By using the Archipod, people can commute to work each day by simply walking into their garden. The Archipod was created to blend into a garden landscape and still be efficient, unique, and ergonomic. The structure resembles a pine cone.
The Archipod is an insulated sphere that is three meters in diameter. It is constructed of timber and structure is prefabricated in sections that are sized in a way so that the Archipod can be carried through a house. Natural light can pour into the Archipod from the roof dome. When the Archipod is intended to be used as an office, it comes with an ergonomic semicircular desk and drawer units.
The Archipod provides a very quiet workspace and any outside noise is minimized. In the winter, an electric panel radiator heats the Archipod and the structure is also highly insulated so any heat loss should be minimized.
Advances in networking and computer technology are allowing more people the option to work from home. The Archipod provides one alternative to having a realistic home office. In addition to working as a home office, the Archipod could also be used as a playroom, studio, tree house, hobby room, or meditation room.
