Google Buys Wavii For $30 Million

Google has purchased Wavii for a reported $30 million, Wavii is a natural language processing startup, and apparently both Apple and Google were looking to buy the company, but Google has managed to come to a deal with Wavii.

Wavii’s team, which is 25 strong will join Google, including the company’s founder Adrian Aoun, the team will be moving to join Google’s Knowledge Graph division in Seattle.

Panasonic Lumix G6 Micro Four Thirds Camera Launches

In addition to the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-LF1 compact camera that launched this week, Panasonic has also launched their new Panasonic Lumix G6 micro four thirds camera.

The Panasonic Lumix G6 is fitted with a 16-megapixel sensor, capable of capturing images at 7fps in burst mode and provides a maximum sensitivity of ISO 25,600.

Wii U Sales Struggling, Shipments Miss Nintendo’s Lowered Targets

The trouble continues for Nintendo as their new Wii U sales continue to struggle, with shipments even failing to reach the lowered targets set by Nintendo earlier in the year.

Wii U sales shipped 3.45 million units worldwide as of March 31st 2013, falling short of the 4 million sales projected in January by Nintendo, which was also adjusted from initial forecasts of 5.5 million.

Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet Launching Worldwide In May And June

Apple’s Tim Cook Talks About The iPhone 5

Yesterday Apple announced their latest financial results, and they managed to sell more iPhones in the last quarter than they did the year before, although the number of devices sold included the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5.

Apple didn’t reveal how many iPhone 5 units they sold, and there have been reports that sales of the handset have not been as strong as previous device launches, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook talked about the iPhone 5 during yesterday’s earning call.

EE Now Has More Than 300,000 4G LTE Subscribers

EE is the UK’s only 4G LTE network at the moment, and the company has announced that it now has more than 300,000 LTE subscribers in the UK and it is on track to hit 1 million users by the end of the year.

At the moment, EE has a total of 318,000 subscribers, this is five months after the company’s 4G LTE service was launched in the UK, they have been expanding their service throughout the UK over the last few months.
