Low Cost 3D Video Produced With Just $250 Worth Of Gear

3D seems to be the popular format for movies this year, but if you wanted to make your own 3D movie, you would have had to shell out around $20,000 for a 3D video camera.

Scientists at the Weber State University have come up with a innovative solution, that lets you shoot 3D video, with two cheap hand held video cameras and a few other parts that costs a total of $250.

LEGO Rubiks Cube Solver Cubestormer

This LEGO Rubiks cube solver created by Robotic Solutions has got to be the most breathtaking example of LEGO construction and ingenuity I have ever seen. The CubesStormer is the Worlds Fastest Lego Mindstorms RCX Speedcubing Robot is capable of solving the standard Rubik’s cube in less than 12 seconds.

Droid Mod Allows USB Connectivity

If you’ve been wanting to connect your Motorola Droid two USB enabled peripherals a mod by Mike Kershaw from Kismet and Mike Baker of OpenWRT will now allow you to do this.

By using a charging cable that plugs into a car’s cigarette lighter a micro USB cable and a USB extender cable. The guys created an improvised micro dongle and connector cable allowing the Motorola Droid to work with the Linux enabled USB device.

Heineken Bot – The Beer Serving Robot

Robots are becoming more popular and we have seen quite a few different ones that can perform a number of different tasks, but this one has to be the coolest so far as it serves you a nice cold glass of beer, the Heineken Bot.

The Heineken Bot was made by some of the students at Middlesex university, it is basically a miniature keg on wheels that moves around in a pre-programmed area, and when a hand is mover over the top of the robot, it stops and pours you a beer, check out the video of it in action below.

Zenith 5-S-29 Radio Case Mod

Check out this watercooled case mod which was built from scratch by Richard Swinburne an inspired by the art deco stylings of the 1920’s and 1930’s  Zenith radios.

The Art Deco style was captured  using replica radio dial, dial glass, escutcheon (dial bezel), and knobs for around $120 to give it that authentic look and feel.
