LG Vortex Android Smartphone Announced

LG and Verizon Wireless have launched a new Android smartphone, the LG Vortex which will be available on Verizon from the 18th of November 2010.

The LG Vortex will come with Android 2.2 Froyo, and it features a 3.2 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 240, there is also a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus.

Google Nexus S And Android 2.3 Gingerbread Announced By Google CEO

We have been hearing rumors about the follow up to the Google Nexus One smartphone, yesterday Google’s CEO, Eric Schmidt announced the Google Nexus S, as well as the latest version of Google’s Android OS, Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Schmidt didn’t give too many details away about the Google Nexus S, he didn’t say which manufacturer will be launching it, but did give some details on the features of the Nexus S.

HTC Evo Shift 4G Trademark Hints At Next HTC Smartphone

Its seems that HTC may be planning a follow up to the HTC Evo 4G, as a recent trademark was filed by the company for a new device called the HTC Evo Shift 4G.

The trademark was filed on the 21st of October, and HTC originally filed the trademark for the name HTC Evo Shift, before changing it to HTC Evo Shift 4G.

Google To Release Android Gingerbread OS Shortly

It looks like Google are getting ready to release the latest version of their Android OS, Android Gingerbread, with a recent Tweet from the GoogleMobile guys hinting that the release is imminent.

The tweet pointed to the picture below, some Android Gingerbread cookies, and the tweet said ‘Our cafes are baking something sweet’, which gives us the impression Google have now finished Android Gingerbread.

Samsung i9100 Dual Core Galaxy 2 Smatphone?

According to Eldar Murtazin, Samsung has a new Galaxy S smartphone in the works, the Samsung Galaxy S 2 or Samsung i9100, which he mentioned on Twitter he was testing out.

Whats interesting is that it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S2 will feature a dual core processor, and Murtazin went on to say that he was impressed with the handset and that it featured a better display than the existing Galaxy S Smartphone.

HTC Mecha (Incredible HD) Android Smartphone Spotted

The guys over at Android Central have managed to get their hands on a photo of a yet to be announced Android smartphone from HTC, the HTC Mecha or HTC Incredible HD.

The HTC Mecha pictured is running Android 2.2 and HTC’s new sense UI, and it is also showing a 4G symbol on the home screen which point to an LTE version on Verizon.

Dell Responds To Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 Smartphone WiFi Issues

Since the Dell Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 smartphone went on sale, a number of owners have reported issues with the handsets, with some users experiencing issues with WiFi.

Dell has responded to the complaints saying that the problems are related to a software glitch in the manufacturing process, and that they will be issuing replacement handsets to people who have had the problem.
