iCarte Turns Your iPhone Into an RFID Reader

Walky- The iPhone Controlled Robot

How cool would it be to control your favourite robot toy with finger gestures on your iPhone? Yuta Sugiura and his colleagues at the Keio University have developed a new control system for robots called ‘Walky’ that lets you control various robots with your iPhone.

Walky can be used to make the robot walk, jump, turn and even kick a mini football, check out the video below which shows it in action.

NASA Develops Chemical Detecting iPhone Add On

There are many things the iPhone can do with the tons of apps available to download, now scientists at NASA’s Ames Research Center have created an add on for the iPhone that can detect chemicals in the air.

Orange Sells 30,000 Apple iPhones On First Day

Yesterday the Apple iPhone became available on UK mobile phone network Orange, and it looks like Orange had a good day as they sold more than 30,000 iPhones.

According to Orange, the 30,000 sales of the iPhone is a new UK record for first day sales of a mobile device, and considering that the iPhone has been available in the UK on O2 for some time, Orange must be pretty happy with the launch.

O2 Looks To Keep iPhone Customers With Free Offers

As of today, O2 is no longer the only mobile phone network in the UK selling the Apple iPhone as it is now available with Orange as well, and in a bid to keep their iPhone customers O2 or offering a range of free services and deals.

O2 have dropped the price of their iPhone Tethering data bundle to £9.79 a month, that gets you 3GB of tethered data per month, and if you sign up to the deal before the 31st of December, O2 will give you their O2 basic Home Broadband package for free.
