JVC DLA-VS4800 8k Projector Launches This Month

JVC is gearing up to launch its new JVC DLA-VS4800 8k Projector in Japan before the end of the month for a staggering $261,00, and offering users 8K Super Hi-Vision.

The new JVC DLA-VS4800 8k Projector uses JVC’s e-Shift pixel technology to create the 8K images it projects. The D-ILA display panel inside the JVC DLA-VS4800 is half the 8K resolution at 4,096 x 2,400 and  projects two images alternated at 120Hz.

HP Holographic Glasses Free Portable 3D Display Demonstrated (video)

This week HP have announced and been demonstrating a new HP Holographic Glasses Free Portable 3D Display, which has been created by modifying a conventional liquid-crystal display (LCD) that can be found in many devices.

HP researches based in HP Labs in Palo Alto, California, hope the new HP Holographic screens will enable a variety new and innovative user interfaces for portable electronics, gaming, and data visualisation.

Toshiba Announces Its 2013 AV Range

Toshiba has unveiled its 2013 AV range which includes a number of new TVs and Blu-ray players, include its new flagship 9 Series Ultra HD TVs which come in a range of sizes including 85 inches, 65 inches and 58 inches.

These new Toshiba 9 Series TVs come with a resolution up to four times that of the 1080p resolution on Full HD TVs, and they have also announced a new 7 Series HDTV range which will be available in a range of sizes including 40 inches, 50 inches and 58 inches.

Philips DesignLine TV Range Unveiled With Seamless Glass Pane Design (video)

Phillips has this week unveiled a new range of HD TVs in the form of the Philips DesignLine TV range, which have been designed to provide users with a slightly more innovative way to display their TV.

Phillips has incorporated a seamless glass panel design in to their new Philips DesignLine TV range, which gives the appearance that the TVs are simply propped up against a wall, when installed. TiVo Mini DVR Extender Now Available For $99

Any TiVo fans who have been patiently waiting for the arrival of the new TiVo Mini DVR extender will be pleased to learn, that TiVo has now started shipping their new TiVo Mini for $99.99.

The TiVo Mini has been designed to provide users with the ability of watching live TV, recorded shows and web entertainment via another TV in your house, using your already installed TiVo Premiere 4 or Premiere XL4/Elite DVR.

Unfortunately at the moment wireless networks are not supported by the new TiVo Mini DVR extender. Tivo explains a little more

LG 55 Inch OLED TV Coming To The UK In July

LG has announced that their LG 55 inch OLED TV is coming to the UK in July, and the device is being showcased exclusively at Harrods and is now available to pre-order and will go on sale in the UK from July.

MyMultitouch Alvaro GIANT 84-inch 4K Touchscreen Display Demonstrated (video)

If you are looking for something a little larger than a tablet for your touchscreen needs. The MyMultitouch Alvaro GIANT is a $43,000 84-inch 4K touchscreen display which has been demonstrated  this month at CeBit, which sports an ultra high definition 4k screen sporting a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.

LG To Use webOS In Its Smart TVs

It looks like LG has purchased the rights for webOS from HP and LG will be using the previous Palm mobile software in its range of Smart TVs, and LG now apparently owns the webOS source code.

LG will be using webOS in their Smart TVs in the future, and it doesn’t look like the have any plans to use webOS in future smartphones, so we guess that will be the end of webOS for smartphones unless LG change their mind in the future.
