People love the Star Wars Battlefront games, but Free Radical Design had to can Battlefront 3 due to lack of funds and then the studio shut down.
In July an hours worth of pre-alpha footage was leaked that showed some buggy gameplay. We didn’t know at the time how close were they to finishing the game before it was cancelled. Now the co-founder of Free Radical, Steve Ellis, has revealed that the game was 99% complete and all they needed to do to finish it was fix those bugs.
He said that gamers could go from battling on the ground to jumping into ships and flying into space to dock into a capital ship and then continuing the battle from there. Basically it would have been awesome. They had even built new tech and overcome many technical problems.
It’s sad to hear that we missed out on such a good game.
