It wasn’t that long ago that video cameras were bulky things that hurt your hand if you used them for too long. And they didn’t even capture quality video compared to what we have today. These days we have tiny action cams that can capture high quality videos whether you are climbing a mountain, riding a bike or even swimming under water. GoPro might the market leader in the class but now there are several options available that are equally good. Sony has introduced a new action cam in the form of the ‘HDR-AS100V’, which will available in Japan on March 14.
This new action cam will be available for purchase in two versions; HDR-AS100V and HDR-AS100VR with live view remote control RM-LVR1. The former will cost you 33,000 Yen ($330) while the VR version is priced at 43,000 Yen ($430). They both feature improved camera shake correction and image quality. They also have professional features like XAVC S and more.
It sports a waterproof external bodyshell and has a drip-proof construction that meets IPX4 standards. Sony will also introduce three accessories for the AS100V that will be sold separately. These include a hard lens protector, an arm kit and a leash band to shoot videos while skiing and snowboarding for instance. Seems like the perfect cam for the adventurer.
