Sony has this week added a new addition to their range of Handycam camcorders, in the form of the newly launched Sony HDR-GW66VE.
The new Sony HDR-GW66VE has been designed to withstand being submerged to a depth of 10 metres for unto an hour, and is also fully dust proof and shockproof up to a height of 1.5 metres.
The Sony HDR-GW66VE Handycam camcorder can capture footage at a maximum resolution of 1080p (50 fps), in a choice of AVCHD, MPEG2 or MP4 formats, and is also able to take 20 megapixel still photographs when required.
The Sony HDR-GW66VE is equipped with a F1.8 – F3.4 G lens, and a 4.6-mm back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS Sensor, and will be available this June. Unfortunately no information on pricing has been released as yet.
