Silicon Power has unveiled a new SSD today called the E20 that has some impressive performance and comes in a variety of storage capacities. The new SSD gets its high performance from the special DRAM cache that it uses to increase the read and write speed.
The DDR2 cache helps the SSD hit read speeds of up to 250MB/s and writes of up to 230MB/s. The SSD is also long lasting thanks to wear leveling algorithms. A Circuit Current Sensor can tell when power to the drive is fluctuating and will take steps to protect your data.
The SSD also supports SMART and TRIM for improved performance. The SSD is offered in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacity. The drive is a 2.5-inch form factor and it measures 100mm x 69.85mm x 9.5mm. Pricing and availability are unknown at this time.Filed Under: Hardware, Technology News
