The big issue with the Samsung Galaxy Tab on the Verizon network isn’t how well the device works or anything, but the price in many minds. The Tab on Verizon is close to the price of the iPad that has better name recognition at this point and a larger screen. Verizon has announced a new price cut that will make it easier for many to choose the Tab over the iPad.
Verizon has cut the price of the Tab on its network to $499. That is a $100 discount and if you purchased one in the last two weeks, you can even get $100 refunded to you. Other than the lower price, the device is the same tablet we are used to.
The new price also includes $60 in movie rentals from the Samsung Media Hub and Blockbuster mobile catalog. I know after using the Tab for a few weeks the thing is just about as good as the iPad and the only time I missed the bigger iPad screen when playing games.
