Students at California State University, Long Beach, had themselves a scare on Tuesday when their mobile devices notified them that an armed suspect was seen in the area of Engineering Technology. Students were instructed to calmly evacuate the campus, lock and blockade the doors, and silence cellphones and that police “are engaging this threat”.
That would be pretty scary. Despite all of the false alarms these days. It turned out that this also was just a false alarm. In fact, the guy didn’t even have a gun. It was just the usual. People being way too paranoid about nothing. It turns out that a construction worker’s Samsung Galaxy handset was mistaken for a weapon. Smooth move people.
How do you mistake a phone for a gun?
