Gary Oldman has had an impressive Hollywood career portraying many characters. Everything from Lee Harvey Oswald to Jim Gordon in The Dark Knight movies. Now he has a new gig as the HTC One (M8) spokesman. Oldman replaced Robert Downey Jr., who allegedly received $12 million a commercial.
The Taiwan based manufacturer decided to go with Oldman for a few of its ads. The first spot has Oldman saying, “Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,” and “It doesn’t matter what I say, because the all new HTC One is designed for people who form their own opinions.” At least a celebrity is speaking the truth. Gotta like that.
The second ad is just a longer version of the first ad. If you are a Gary Oldman fan, you should enjoy these ads and maybe be swayed toward this phone like they want you to be. Although I doubt it. Companies need to realize that for the most part, ads like these don’t make people run out and buy their product. Good products are all you need for that. They sell themselves all day long.
