RIM hits 3 billion BlackBerry app downloads
RIM wants to set the record straight. Not all of their numbers are looking bad. The company is celebrating three billion app downloads since the launch of App World.
According to the company, that means 2.5 million downloads a day, which is pretty impressive. No one is going to complain about those numbers one bit.
And while they are celebrating, they are taking the opportunity to set things straight about the perceived lack of selection for BlackBerry handsets and the PlayBook tablet, by reminding everyone that right now, there are 90,000 apps available through the mobile app market.
These numbers don’t mean that everything is just fine with RIM of course, but it gives them something to point to and say, “Hey, we are doing pretty good at something”
