Throwing dangerous objects is what many sports are all about and someone usually has to go retrieve them. However this year, London will be using little remote controlled Mini Coopers instead of humans for this task.
Hey, what about the poor guy who lost his job to these little cars? He’s the unsung hero with no medals and no glory and now a little car has his job.
Oh well. Each car is a quarter-scale replica of a real Mini Cooper. They can carry 18 pounds and are capable of carrying a hammer, a discus, a shot, or two javelins, which loaded through the sunroof. Each day, the cars will cover almost four miles each, shuttling equipment back and forth, trading places every 35 minutes for a quick recharge.
Maybe one day they will even compete with other in their tasks and that will become a sport in itself.
