Tod Smart Beacon Connects Real World Actions To Your Mobile (video)
A new smart beacon has been created called Tōd (pronounced “toad”) which can be used to connect real world actions directly to your smartphone, using Bluetooth Smart 4.0 connectivity. With an adjustable transmission range from 3 to 500 feet.
Tōd is now currently over on the Kickstarter website, where its looking to raise $50,000 to help it make the jump from concept to production. Watch the video after the jump to see its designers talk you through the benefits of the Tōd smart bacon device.

OS X Lion Issue Reveals Login Passwords In Plain Text
It has come to light over the weekend that an issue within Apple’s latest OS X Lion may leave login passwords to appear in a plain text format within a debug log file, for some users in certain circumstances.
The issue has been uncovered by a security researcher David Emery after it was discovered that an Apple programmer accidentally left a debug flag within the most recent version of OS X Lion.

Kinect Powered Augmented Reality Interactive Sand Pit (video)
Since its launch Microsoft’s Kinect motion controller device has been used for a wide range of amazing projects, and has now been used to create a interactive topographical map, or rather an interactive augmented reality sandbox, with real-time water simulations.
Using the Kinect devices users are able to dig and manipulate the sand within the augmented sandbox, creating new valleys and mountains. Into which water can then be run and manipulated in real time, watch the video after the jump to see the Kinect sandbox concept in action.

Apple To Settle Proview iPad Lawsuit In China?
Last month we heard that Apple and Proview were in discussions to put an end to the Proview lawsuit in China, where the company is suing Apple for the use of the iPad name.
Now it would appear that Apple is looking to settle the lawsuit with Proview, which would put and end to the court case and let Apple continue to use the iPad name in China.
Samsung Galaxy S III Headed To Six US Carriers
Last week Samsung announced their new flagship Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S III, and now we have some details on which mobile carriers in the US the device will be available on.
According to the guys over at Slashgear the Samsung Galaxy S III will be available with Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T, plus some other carriers which include C Spire Wireless, Metro PCS and US Cellular.

Crackberry forum user Biggulpseh has leaked a new screenshot and documents of a BlackBerry 10 video editor application, together with other features which have yet to be announced.
Such as a tilt-senstive lock screen that pushes notifications to the user based on the device’s movement. As well as screen sharing features that will allow users to share screens during video conferences, providing the opportunity to share documents from one device to another.
