Microsoft To Show Off Windows 8 Tablets Next Week?
We have already seen a few previews of Microsoft’s next operating system, Windows 8, and no that it features a tablet friendly user interface, and have already had a preview of a couple of Windows 8 tablets apps.
Next week, Microsoft is expected to show off the first tablet device running Windows 8 at next weeks annual conference in Anaheim next Tuesday, although there are no details as yet on which manufacturer the first Windows 8 Tablet will be from.
Android Ice Cream Sandwich Coming October Or November
The next version of Google’s mobile OS is called Ice Cream Sandwich, and we have heard quite a bit about the new platform over the last few months, and we heard back in August that Android Ice Cream Sandwich may launch in October.
Now Google’s Eric Schmidt has confirmed hat Android Ice Cream Sandwich will launch in either October or November of 2011, whilst speaking at the Dreamforce conference in San Francisco, here’s what Google’s Eric Schmidt had to say about the latest version of Android.
HTC Paid Google For Patents To Go After Apple
Earlier we heard that Google had transferred a number of patents to HTC, in what looks like an attempt by Google to protect its Android manufacturers from the various court cases being brought against them by Apple.
Now it would appear that HTC has actually purchased the nine patents in question from Google, although there are no details on how much HTC paid Google for the patents, so it could end up being a nominal amount.
Foxconn Producing 150,000 iPhone 5′s Per Day
We have been hearing rumors about Apple’s iPhone 5 for quite some time, and we are expecting Apple to officially announce the iPhone 5 some time this month and we think it will go on sale in the first week of October.
Now according to a recent report, Foxconn who make a number of products for Apple including the iPhone 4 are increasing their production of the new iPhone 5 and are reportedly producing 150,000 iPhone 5′s per day.

It looks like Nike may have something new to announced today, according to Matt Halfhill from Nike Kicks, who received an invitation from Nike to a special event where they will unveil a new product.
Matt was flown out to LA for ‘a big announcement’, and when he got there he was given an iPod Shuffle with a personal message from Dr. Emmet Brown, which said “Welcome to Los Angeles. If my calculations are correct, over the next 24 hours you are about to see some SERIOUS SH*T!”.
HTC Sues Apple With Google And Motorola Patents
HTC and Apple have been filing lawsuits against each other since last year, Apple looked like they had the upper hand, until now, it would appear that HTC has some new patents to add it its portfolio, and these new patents come courtesy of Google.
Google’s has been pretty quiet in the various cases between Apple and the various Android device manufacturers until they recently purchased Motorola in an attempt to protect their Android OS.

Life Size Starship Troopers Battlesuit Is Really Impressive
No, what’s seen below isn’t a badly executed tribute to Metroid and if you’re thinking Paul Verhoeven, wrong too. Apparently Bandai (of Gundam fame) adapted Robert A Heinlein’s classic Starship Troopers into a six-part anime miniseries titled Starship Troopers OVA. It aired in the 1980s but has generally been forgotten. A few episodes are on YouTube, however. In it, the ape suits in the novel were given serious Japanese mecha treatment. Now an otaku sculptor is rebuilding the suits based on the OVA.

Velocity Micro Cruz T408 -T410 Android Tablets Unveiled And Under $300 (video)
Velocity has unveiled a couple of new Android tablets its added to its range in the form of the T408 and T410 tablets running Android 2.3. The larger of the two the T410 is equipped with a 10 inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 16:9 and powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor.
The smaller 8 inch T408 model is also equipped with a capacitive touch screen, and the same as the T410 is fitted with a front facing camera, Android 2.3, 802.11n wifi, and powered by the same 1GHz Cortex A8 processor.

Google Offers Rolls Out To 5 More US Cities
Google’s announced its new Google Offers beta service has now rolled out to 5 more cities across the US including Austin, Boston, D.C., Denver and Seattle.
If you have not heard of Google Offers before its a new service that enables Google to publish deals that are localised to US geographic locations. The service currently in its beta development stage was started after Google’s attempt to purchase Groupon an existing offer and deal service failed.
