Windows Phone Tango To Offer Support For Up To 120 Languages?

The current version of Microsoft’s mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7.5 mango has support for a total of 35 different languages, and now it would appear that Microsoft will be increasing this in the next major version of Windows Phone.

According to a recent report, Microsoft intends to add in an additional 85 languages in Windows Phone Tango, which would take the supported languages up to a total of 120.

WiGig High Speed Short Range SD Cards Demonstrated, Transferring DVD’s In Just 60 Seconds

Panasonic has this week been demonstrating its new WiGig SD memory cards that have been designed to provide a simple solution for short-range high speed data transfers. The new WiGig gigabit wireless communications technology has been under development for some time and was first featured back in June 2011 here on Geeky Gadgets.

WiGig is embedded on an SD memory card, and Panasonic has revealed how it can be used to transmit videos, photos and other local data from a wireless controller such as a tablet, to the displays mounted in the passenger seats of a car. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

EU Launches Investigation Into Samsung Over Mobile Patents

It looks like Samsung is the latest company that will come under scrutiny of the European regulators, as the European Commission has announced that it will be investigating Samsung over certain mobile patents.

Samsung has launched a number of lawsuits relating to their mobile patents, some against Apple, and the EU will now investigate whether these lawsuits are against an agreement Samsung made back in 1998.

Self Guided Direction Changing Smart Bullets Unveiled By US Military

If you have seen the film Wanted starring Angelina Jolie you might remember the scene in which a bullet is able to be curved to a target by changing its course. Science fiction? Not any more, the US Military has now unveiled a new type of bullet that can do just that and can guide itself to a target, automatically changing its path as its flies.

Sandia National Laboratories has long been at work with the United States military developing the ultimate “smart bullet.” It announced today that a successful prototype of the bullet was created and tested at distances of over a mile (about 2,000 meters).

AMD Radeon HD 7950 Graphic Card Launches

AMD has this week launched a new graphics card to its range in the form of the AMD Radeon HD 7950 based on the same 28nm Graphics Core Next GPU as the AMD Radeon HD 7970, code-named Tahiti.

In comparison the Radeon HD 7950 is a slightly cut down version clocked at 800MHz compared to the HD 7970’s 925MHz. Even though it clocked under 1 GHz there have been rumours that Taiwanese graphics card manufacturer may very soon be launching overclocked Radeon HD 7950 cards for sale.

Samsung Galaxy S II And Galaxy Note Android 4.0 ICS Update Coming Before End Of Q1

Samsung announced last year that they would be releasing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone some time in early 2012.

German Court Upholds Ban Of Original Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Samsung and Apple have been battling it out in a number of courts around the world over various patents relating to each companies products, one of the products that Apple managed to get banned was the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

The tablet was banned from sale in Germany, and Samsung released a new model with some design changes, the Galaxy Tab 10.N, although Samsung has been trying to have the original ban overturned.
