Foursquare is used to find great places to dine, but it has never allowed users to place orders for delivery. At least, not until today. Foursquare has announced that GrubHub Seamless has now been integrated, which means that users can now find over 20,000 restaurants in hundreds of cities across the country.
Users can also place orders for delivery from local restaurants without ever having to leave the app. That is some added convenience. This is a great integration for Foursquare since it wants to grow from a service that people just use to check-in to a place they’re visiting. The past few months have also seen the company building up its discovery and recommendation offerings as well. It seems to be all coming together.
Now you can place orders from within the app, as long as you come across one with either the GrubHub or Seamless icon,. Once you do, just tap on “order delivery.” Done. The feature is live on Foursquare.com, Android and iOS. We don’t know if the Windows Phone 8 app will receive it, or when. Either way, it will be a wait for that platform.
