The first Android powered camera has arrived. Nikon’s $349.95 Coolpix S800c is pretty nice too. It has built-in GPS, a 10x optical zoom lens, 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 3.5-inch OLED WVGA touchscreen, a 1080p movie capture mode and Android 2.3.
Nikon managed to beat Samsung with the first camera that runs Android. It can generate its own network and tether with your phone, and you can also download photo sharing applications directly onto it’s 4GB of internal storage.
It will be interesting to see how Android works on a camera and how it affects battery life too. It hits store shelves in black and white next month for $350.
