Most Nokia fans still prefer QWERTY

Touchscreens have taken over the market over the last few years, but make no mistake, there is still a very large crowd that insists QWERTY is the best. Don’t believe it? Check out the latest Nokia poll from over at the Conversations by Nokia blog.

The poll was to determine what input method their readers favored. As it turns out, users had the choice between QWERTY, Touchscreen, Number keypad, or Voice command. 48.64% chose QWERTY, 34.69% preferred Touchscreen, and 8.91% and 7.75% voted for Number keypad and Voice command.

Things get interesting when breaking the poll down by country. In that context, Touchscreen came out in front in the US with 47.22% of the votes. European nations like Germany, the UK, Sweden and Finland, as well as emerging countries like the Philippines all preferred QWERTY as their input method. So if Nokia is smart, they will offer up more QWERTY devices.
